Friday 29th April 2022

Dear Parents, Carers, Pupils and Staff,

This week we saw the arrival of the Vikings in Year 4. I was really impressed with the costumes and engagement of the children throughout the day as they were inspired by “The Viking man” and all the other activities that they took part in during the day.

Year 3 visited Colchester zoo and had a brilliant day! Thank you to the parents/carers and PTA who volunteered and helped to make the visit run smoothly.

Happy children in an underwater tunnel

I had the pleasure of meeting the school's PTA on Tuesday evening and they were able to share some of the great events that they have had in the past and that are coming up. One of the key events is the summer fete on June 18th. There are lots of amazing stalls and events planned, however, the team needs some help from you. If you have any old crockery and tarpaulin that you no longer need, could you please hand it over to the team. They are also in need of some Harris fencing for the event, if you know of anyone that could help, please contact the PTA at

The money raised by the PTA provides additional resources that all of the children can benefit from, we are hoping to install some outdoor gym equipment with the money raised so far.

A request to parents /carers that are dropping their children to school by car, please do not arrive at the school gates before 8.20 am. It is quite disruptive for our neighbours and could potentially cause a challenge for the emergency services if they needed access.

Unfortunately, there are still challenges with social media. I appreciate this is frustrating and I assure you I am doing all I can to resolve the issues.

This weekend is a bank holiday weekend, please enjoy that additional day off with your family and friends! We look forward to welcoming you all back to school on Tuesday 3rd May 2022.

Yours sincerely,

C Dawson

Interim Headteacher
